National Payment Corporation (NPC) and Axellect present a study

Central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) are shaping the new agenda for the global financial system. More than 100 countries, accounting for over 98% of global GDP, have been hard at work on it.

National Payments Corporation of Kazakhstan, together with Axellect, conducted a study that systematizes the challenges identified during pilot projects around the world and analyzes effective approaches to overcoming them.

Each challenge is examined through practical case studies, from China and India to the Middle East, Europe, and the Caribbean.

Particular attention is given to the experience of Kazakhstan, where the digital tenge project has become part of a strategy to strengthen the country’s financial sovereignty and technological independence.
